Erlandson's In

via Polinaut, Erlandson's in:
"Today, I answer the calls of my supporters to officially join Ember, Paul, Erik and Keith in the DFL race for Congress in the Fifth District. I believe there should be an open and vigorous debate about the issues facing our community, state and nation. Each of us brings a different set of skills, experience, background, and themes in a year that is extremely important to Democrats.
Ya gotta figure the endorsed candidate is in good shape when there is multiple challengers. With Ellison garnering the votes of the DFL Loyalists, the remainder will be divvied up four ways.

I believe a party's best chance at winning is to rally around the endorsed candidate as early as possible, and set your sites on the 'real' opponent on the other side of the aisle. But the 5th is a different beast, considering how late in the game the retirement was announced. Without the opportunity to make full use of the precinct caucus process, it seems acceptable to continue on to the primary.
